Our little neighbor girl, Mia, just had her 5th birthday and she got a Barbie jeep that is pretty cool. It goes pretty fast and it even has a FM radio that works. She picked Jaxson up this evening and took him for a spin in her new wheels.

A Case Of The Mondays
I don’t know what the deal is with our weather, but it’s really starting to tick me off! It has caused bad moods, especially with Jaxson and I. We went to music class this morning and when we got home, Jaxson wanted to play outside. I wouldn’t let him because it was quite cold and windy. So of course he threw a fit when I made him come in. All day long, he walks over to our door and pounds on it and says "bye bye" and brings me his shoes. We did manage to get outside for 1 1/2 hours this afternoon, but if it were up to him, we’d be outside all day. It’s not as fun when it’s the end of April and we’re wearing our heavy coats and coming inside and not being able to feel our hands. I’m sick of it!!! Anyways, the weekend was OK, other than the 30 degree weather. . . have I mentioned that yet? Work went well, nothing too exciting happened. The boys stayed home and watched the NFL draft. I’m thankful that it fell on a weekend that I work so I didn’t have to suffer through those endless hours of boredom. G & G Cathcart came and visited the boys on Sunday. Jaxson told me all about "papa" coming to see him when I got home from work. Don’t worry grandmas, he’ll have a word for you soon.

A Busy 4 Days
Jaxson and I have been enjoying having Daddy home for the last four days. Since this last weekend was my weekend off, Brad took Friday and today off so that we could all spend some time together. We spent Friday running a lot of little errands and got a lot done. Saturday was a bummer with the dreary weather, but we did manage to get out of the house to go to church that evening. This was the first time that we got to see the new sanctuary, and it is gorgeous. Jaxson even behaved quite well throughout the service and didn’t need to be escorted to the nursery. I think it helped that Uncle Heath, Devon, and Kade were also there to help entertain him. After church, Heath and the boys came over for a little BBQ since Tanya was up in Hubbard for a girl’s night out. Sunday was a beautiful day so Brad worked out in the garage trying to organize it and get more stuff hung up on the walls to make more room for Jaxson’s toys. Our goal this summer is to get a shed put up in the backyard so maybe sometime soon Brad can park his truck in the garage once again. Sunday afternoon, G & G Cathcart came down to watch Jaxson so that Brad and I could go to the Daughtry and Bon Jovi concert. We went to a pre-show at Hy-Vee Hall and had dinner and drinks and ran into some friends, Dave & Rhonda Bruxvoort, that we haven’t seen in a long time. We had a very nice time chatting with them and sharing pictures of our kids, of course. Then we headed over to the concert at Wells Fargo Arena. Daughtry put on a pretty good show. We were very excited to see him because we LOVED watching him on American Idol (we think he still should have won). Then Bon Jovi performed and it was awesome! He puts on a great show. He’s all over the stage and really keeps the crowd into it. At one point in the show, he snuck onto the floor and stood up about 20 feet from me. Yep, I got some good pics of that. Today was also very busy and fun. This morning we got up and went to Mommy and Me Music at our church. But today it was Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Me Music. Daddy and Grandma enjoyed watching him do his thing at music class. And then it was off to the zoo. It was so fun seeing Jaxson get so excited about all of the different animals. Since it’s just starting to get nice out, a lot of the animals weren’t out yet or they were improving a lot of the exhibits, so we didn’t get to see a lot of things. But it was still a great time and I think we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

Cute Kids
Lastnight we went over to the McArtor’s house so that Brad could see Josiah, their latest addition. He is so adorable and a very quiet baby. He slept right through all of the noise that the other two munchkins were making. . . and it was a lot.

Our Trip Up North
Today, Jaxson and I headed up North to Eldora to visit my grandma and Aunt Wendy. Grandma took us out to lunch and then we spent the rest of the afternoon playing at her house. Jaxson enjoyed showing off all of his animal sounds and of course he loved following Aunt Wendy around and helping her with the laundry. We were bummed that we weren’t able to go outside and play. Eventhough it was in the 60’s, the wind was so terrible that I probably would have had to hang on to Jaxson so that he didn’t blow away. After supper we then headed to Hubbard to see G & G Winter. Then we all went out to Brandon’s farm (the farm I grew up on) to see his new calves. Jaxson loved looking at the cows and hearing them "moo." He wasn’t too sure about petting the calves, he would rather just look at them. Here’s some pics from our fun and busy day. . .

Yummy Fondue!
Tonight I got a night out with the girls. YEEHAA! Our girls from work have been talking about going to Crave and doing the fondue, so tonight was the night. I have never done the fondue before and it was fabulous! The key is that you have to go on Tuesdays because it’s buy one fondue meal and get one free, otherwise it’s quite expensive. There were eight of us that went and we ate so much and had such a great time. I have to say that the best part about it was of course the dessert. We had four pots of melted chocolate and four huge trays full of strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows, graham crackers, cheesecake, rice krispy bars, etc. that we dipped in the chocolate. I will definitely be going back there, at least for another round of dessert anyways.
