Last night we had the Jodoins and Schaefers over for some pizza. Ever since both of their families moved to Altoona a few years ago, we just don’t get together as often as we would like. It’s always fun when we get all of the kids together to play.

So after one more trip to CompUSA today and of course more money, we are up and running again. I have added some pictures to the previous posts, so make sure that you scroll down and check them out.
At Least The Boys Had A Good Weekend
Brad and Jaxson went to Gowrie on Saturday and spent the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving. From what I hear they had a great time and had great food. I’m glad that they had a good time because I had the worst weekend at work in a very long time. With the boys being up in Gowrie, I was looking forward to getting home after work on Saturday and having the house to myself. Well, that didn’t happen. I got home at 10:15 pm on Saturday and then realized that I hadn’t gone to the bathroom since I had gotten up that morning. Yes, I know, it’s not good for me. I already got the lecture from Brad; however, when you are so busy and don’t even realize it, what do you do? Sunday was a little better since I left the hospital at 8:15 pm and got home in time to put Bubbie to bed. Let me tell you, I’m ready for my two weeks off!!

Black Friday
Well, we didn’t know if it was a good idea or if we were just plain stupid. Yes, Brad, Jaxson and I braved the crowds to shop on Black Friday and I have to say that we had wonderful results. We came home with almost all of our Christmas gifts that we needed to get and at wonderful prices too. I think I will have to do this every year.
Happy Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We celebrated with my family in Hubbard. My mom and grandma made a wonderful turkey dinner and pumpkin desserts. We also went and visited my dad and Brenda. Jaxson had a great time destroying their house. Brad and I are thankful that nothing was broken. Sorry about the mess guys! Brad and Jaxson are going to Gowrie tomorrow to celebrate with the Cathcarts while I head off to work. I would much rather go to Gowrie and enjoy Kris’ home cooking. I’m still holding on to a little hope that I will get cancelled tomorrow, but we’ll see.
We’re Back!
Well, we never left, but our computer did. The computer decided that it needed a little fine tuning so it has been in the shop for a week or so. Brad and I felt so out of touch with the world. It really stinks because they had to wipe out my whole computer, so I lost my address book, pictures, favorites, EVERYTHING! So I am gradually getting things back to the way they were; however, now one of my disk drives won’t work so I can’t install my programs for my printer and camera, so that means no new pictures. This sucks!!

15 Month Check-up
Jaxson had his 15 month check-up with Dr. Williams last week and got another A+. He weighs in at 26 lbs and 1 oz and is 32 inches tall. If I remember correctly, those are both in the 90th percentile. Dr. Williams was very impressed that Jaxson knows two body parts, his head and toes. Since then he has learned tummy. Next week we will work on the clavicle and phalanges. . . just kidding. Jaxson also got quite the chuckle from Dr. Williams when he showed him how to do "touchdown."

Weekend Update
Grandma Cathcart came down on Friday night and stayed until Sunday morning. Jaxson loved having her here and having all of her attention. Brad and Andy went to the Iowa game on Saturday and were happy to report another victory. The Hawks just might make a bowl game after all. Work went well for me this weekend. On Saturday we sent several patients home, so on Sunday, I got sent over to work at Younker Rehab for 12 hours. I had a good day over there, but it was very different from my unit. Their mornings are very rushed over there because you have to get everyone up, dressed, and into the dining room by 7:30 for breakfast. It reminded me of when I worked at the nursing home. But after that initial rush, it’s very slow because all of the patients go to their therapy sessions that last most of the day. It was an OK place to work for 12 hours, but I still like my unit where I feel more challenged and the patients are more complicated.
New Backyard View
That’s right, the greenbelt behind our house is picked up and looking fabulous. The tree guys were back on Friday and got rid of the Dr. Seuss tree. The view from our kitchen table is so much nicer now. Although it doesn’t look too great right now because of the season, I’m sure it will look even better this next spring and summer. Take a look. . .
