Since Blogsome is shutting down, our new blog site is thecathcarts.wordpress.com. Luckily I’ve been able to transfer our entire blog to that site. So I will no longer be making blog entries on this site. We hope that you follow us to our new one. Bye bye blogsome and hello wordpress.

One Of My Worst Fears Coming True. . .
OK, don’t get too scared, but I’ve thought about for a long time now what would happen if something happened to our blog site and I cringe at the thought of it being gone without being able to look at it. Well, as I logged on tonight, there is a notice that it is going to be gone forever after Dec. 7th. So here’s my problem, I don’t have it backed up anywhere and I don’t have a single page printed off. I do NOT want to lose any of this information because this has been our family’s scrapbook since I was pregnant with Jaxson. I look back at the blog to remind myself when my kids hit certain milestones and just to look at pictures of when they were little. So my idea that I have right now is to go to one of those stores like Copyworks and see if I can print the whole blog off, which I cringe at the thought of how many pages it’s going to be, but this is the only idea I have at this time. If anyone has any other ideas that might be better please let me know.

Strep, Strep, & More Strep :(
Well that pretty much sums up this week
. Jaxson woke up Monday morning with his neck off to the right side and he would not move it. The awesome medical professional that I am, just thought that maybe he slept wrong and had a kink in his neck. He had been fine the whole weekend, was not running a fever, and said that his throat and ears did not hurt. So I tried moving his head to the left side, which just brought on the tears. As the day progressed, he was looking worse and worse and didn’t have any energy and also started to complain of ear and throat pain. So of course he had strep and an ear infection. Then on Wed. Tanya let me know that Alexandria had strep, and of course she would because we all hung out on Saturday before we knew that we had "the bug." Then last night, Holden was just a peach. . . not!!! Brad and I then took him into the Dr. and prayed that the Dr. was going to tell us that he also had strep or an ear infection because I did not want to hear that nothing was wrong and maybe it’s just because he is almost two. So thank goodness there was a reason for his terrible behavior. Last night after we got the kids to bed, I started with the chills, an earache and just not feeling well. So once again, the great medical professional that I am, I found some of Brad’s antibiotics that he didn’t finish and started to take those. . . it should do the trick. So now I’m just waiting for Brad to come home sick. At least we are getting all of this out of the way this week and not next week when we have three Thanksgivings to go to and all of the kids will still be on antibiotics, so hopefully they won’t be catching any other bugs.
This was the most active Jaxson was on Monday. He had to use the dog neck pillow to hold his head up.
On Tuesday morning, Holden wanted to stand in the fridge like he normally does to show me what he wants to eat for breakfast. Usually he picks out his yogurt and berries for me to make him a yogurt parfait, but on this morning he pointed to the leftover spaghetti and said "this." I asked him if he wanted spaghetti for breakfast and he said yes. So I thought why not? So both of the boys enjoyed leftover spaghetti for breakfast, which then blew my plans for lunch

We Are Boring
Nothing exciting going on here, so all you get is pictures
We got our first snowfall (5 inches) so of course Jaxson was out playing in it. He insisted on scooping off the deck.
We stayed inside. It was still freezing out there.
We continue to have daily battles over candy. Gotta love Halloween candy and the joy that it brings to kids.
I think the naked baby wants a snack after his bath

At Least The Boys Had a Fun Weekend
Last weekend my mom and Mike were so awesome to take the boys for us. They had so much fun. On Saturday, they went over to see Great Grandma and Aunt Wendy. They then went to Ames to pick up Kade and Alexandria, then to Nevada for Kenneth’s 7th birthday party. They had so much fun at the party. All of them then headed back to Mom and Mike’s house for a big sleepover. All of the kids did fabulous. Mom then brought the boys back on Sunday morning and all we have heard since then from Holden is "Papa. . . Nana." With the boys being gone, I of course worked all weekend and Brad did too. Not only is he the supervisor at the hospital, but for now, he is also the manager. So now he has a lot of jobs added to his daily "to do" list at work, on top of his current supervisor jobs, along with taking classes, and being a full time dad on the weekends. So needless to say, this doesn’t give him much time to get much of anything done. So Brad went into work to do a bunch of annual evaluations and a few other things and got some homework done too. So all in all, it was a productive weekend for us and a fun one for the boys.

Happy Halloween 2011
Tonight was trick or treat night in WDM and boy were the kids out in full force. Some neighbors of ours had a pre trick or treat party at their house, which was fun. All of the neighbor kids were in their costumes running around, eating hot dogs, doing Halloween crafts, and just being crazy. Then it was time to trick or treat! It was so fun watching the kids go crazy and have fun. Holden was not into his costume at first. I pretty much had to force it on and all he said for the next 1/2 hour was "NO!" After a while, he thought it was pretty fun and caught on to the whole trick or treating thing.

Holden’s Lovies
Oh boy. . . Holden’s lovies. This kid loves these things. "They" include his monkey, or "me" as he calls it, and at least two burp rags, or also known as "burr ray," and the baby. They go everywhere with him. . . upstairs, downstairs, to bed, in the bike trailor, etc. If for some reason he hasn’t seen them in a while and finally notices them, he gets soooo excited and runs and tackles them and buries his head into them.
Holden with all of his friends.
Pumpkin Carving
Last night we had our 3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Party with the Barrons. We had great fun making a mess and creating masterpieces.

The final product. . . Brad’s (it’s hard to tell what it is from this picture but it’s a scary face), mine is a cat, Jaxson’s is Dracula, and Holden’s is a ghost.

Not Much Going On Here
We haven’t been up to anything too exciting lately. Brad went to the Iowa FB game this weekend and had a great time. Grandma Kris came down for a little bit Sat. afternoon to see her grandbabies. Other than that, it’s the same ol’ same ol’ around here.
Holden getting his homework done.
With the colder weather back, Jaxson is back to doing puzzles. He has been doing 100 piece puzzles all by himself.
And we are back to playing indoor games.
And playing indoor with our neighbors.

Wedding Weekend
Last weekend Brad was a best man in Ben and Tina’s wedding. They got married last Sat. at TCI (a country club) in Polk City. The wedding was outside and they were blessed with such a gorgeous fall day. It couldn’t have been anymore beautiful. We had a great time celebrating with them and a bunch of other friends we haven’t seen in a long time. We did make a late night out of it so we really appreciate my dad and Brenda for keeping the boys overnight with them. The boys had a lot of fun and I heard provided a lot of entertainment

Oh yeah, here’s me with the best man.
These boys and their air guitars. I could probably pull out a very similar picture from eight years ago at our wedding. Their air guitars go to every wedding reception with them
